Who Are We
The Queer Running Society (QRS) elevates the queer experience in the running industry by:
Connecting queer running communities
Campaigning for queer representation (in leadership positions, on boards, at conferences/trade shows, etc)
Compiling queer content and resources (speakers, guides, policies, tools, podcasts, etc)
Creating safe spaces for the queer community (i.e. develop a QRS certification for events, conferences, etc)
Conducting surveys and research
Values
Anti-racism / Anti-oppression
We disrupt systems of oppression and highlight the intersectionality of marginalized communities.
Movement
We celebrate the power of movement in all of its forms.
Empathy
We respect each other’s identities, experiences, and beliefs.
Interdependence
We prioritize collaboration over competition, and are prepared to work with those willing to engage.
Openness
We believe in transparency from start to finish.
Endurance
We recognize this work happens over time and that it requires a continued commitment, especially when navigating the unknown where mistakes are probable.
