Kae Ravichandran (she/they) is a trans and non-binary road runner and fledgling mountain runner based out of Vermont. She ran for 4 years at Case Western Reserve University where she graduated with a bachelor’s in Cognitive Science and master’s in Bioethics. After college, she started medical school at the University of Vermont and aspires to be an infectious disease physician who also practices gender-affirming health care. In her time in Vermont, she has participated in a project that empowers youth to be able to receive the healthcare and support that they need, especially if they live in a rural area without access to physicians nearby. She is also involved in educating primary care physicians around the state about the basics of trans care so that more people across the state of Vermont can obtain that care.
She has continued running throughout her career in medicine and will be running her second Boston Marathon in 2023 (along with over 20 more amazing non-binary folks!) as well as her first 50 miler in June. She has previously raced in the Rut, Bolton Valley Three Peaks Race, and the Green Mountain Marathon in the non-binary division, and the New Bedford Half Marathon in the women’s division. During this time, she has advocated for equitable space for non-binary and trans runners in local New England races. In her spare time, she loves to try different Vermont IPAs and explore the lush beautiful trails and landscape of the world around us!
