Jake Fedorowski

Executive Director
Jake Fedorowski (they/them) is a runner and disruptor, and currently resides on the traditional land of the Coast Salish people.
As a non-binary person, Jake is constantly rewriting the binary narrative of society and advocating for more inclusive systems, practices, and spaces. Jake is the author of the Guide to Non-Binary Inclusion in Running, which they created after making the difficult decision to no longer register or participate in events that didn’t affirm their gender identity. Jake then began partnering with race organizers, including the team behind the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, to implement the solutions in the guide. Jake also founded Run Beyond (RUNN+), a community for non-binary athletes to connect. To learn more about Jake’s work and the movement toward non-binary inclusion, please visit nonbinaryrunning.com.
As a child, Jake attempted to find their place in sport, including hockey, baseball, and soccer, but were ultimately no match for the cis-het culture. After discovering their true self in adulthood and serving on the Board of Seattle Frontrunners, an LGBTQIA+ running and walking club, Jake now seeks to reclaim space they were never welcomed into. Building off their professional history of supporting and managing collaborative teams in dynamic industries, Jake is honored to lead the QRS team as Executive Director.
The running industry is at a turning point, either it shifts to include the queer community, or continue down a path of exclusion and become irrelevant to future generations. Jake looks forward to discovering a solution that allows all participants to show up to any start line as their authentic selves.
